Answers to your questions.

A social media check is when an individual’s social media accounts are reviewed in order to gain insight to the individual, their interests and hobbies and any groups to which they may be subscribed to.

Many employers research the social media accounts of their employee’s (current or future) to gain a better understanding of what makes their staff tick. Social media accounts will provide insight into the individual, their interests and hobbies and also any less-desirable traits that they may have.

Reports cost £29.99 each.

Our managed enterprise solution for business pricing starts at £50.00 per report. Volume discounts apply for multiple reports, please ask your Account Manager for details.

The majority of social media checks are undertaken manually using individuals to research accounts. This has a number of issues. It’s laborious work, it’s very subjective and the individual will only be able to view public posts that the subject has made.

Our Social Media Checks are 100% automated software controlled with no manual review. The subject provides authorisation to view all of their posts and relevant results (public and private). We provide a report and a certificate of the findings.

Yes you do. We only provide services to other businesses clients who wish to run checks on existing or future employees.

Yes. The individual for whom the check is required must consent to the check being conducted. All output is hosted on a secure solution and the output is only made available to the requestor.

No.  Consenting to a Social Media Check report does not mean that we obtain your passwords to your social media accounts.

We obtain a temporary permission to access your account(s) for the purposes of the social media check report.   Nor would any member of our team ever request that you share any of your passwords with us.

The individual will receive a consent email asking them to consent to a Social Media Check being conducted. This email details the requestor (i.e. the company requesting the report) so that this individual is aware of why this report has been requested and by whom.

The individual then has to consent to share their Social Media account credentials with Social Media Check in order to grant access to each individual social media account.

Only when these consents are received can a social media check report be conducted.

The Social Media Check solution resides on UK based data centres that comply to the most stringent data security legislation (ISO27001) to ensure that your data is safe. Reports are only stored on this platform for 90 days before being archived in an encrypted format.

The Social Media Check platform won’t distribute the report or certificate output without the requestor of the report performing this action.

It is possible for the end-subject to receive a copy of their report (and certificate if appropriate) but these outputs would have to be sent by the requestor to the individual manually.

No. The Social Media Check platform cannot perform a check without the consent of the end subject. Consents are (a) initially for the report to be conducted, then (b) for each platform that the end subject is happy for us to check.

No. Unlike many of our competitors the social media check that we conduct is 100% software-based. This removes any unconscious bias (i.e. bias or prejudice) within any of the report content.

The time taken for a social media check will vary on two factors (a) the number of social media platforms the subject has, and (b) the frequency of post made by the subject.

A check conducted for an individual with accounts on the most popular social media platforms with an average number of posts will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete (post consent received).

The service generates two outputs, (a) a report detailing any content discovered and (b) a certificate.

The report will allow the reviewer to click hyperlinks to review the actual content that the media check may have reported. The certificate provides an overview of the findings but no links to any content. Neither output will be shared with the individual unless the requestor shares the content manually.

Yes. The details of the end subjects (i.e. the people for whom you wish to run the Social Media Check) can be uploaded to the system individually or via a group of subjects.

The consent request emails can then be scheduled from within the system either immediately or to be sent at some future date and time. The system will allow consent reminders to be re-sent quickly and easily directly from within the solution dashboard.

Yes. Once a consent is received from the end-subject, the system will automatically run the Social Media Check and generate two outputs. (1) Social Media Report, (2) Social Media Certificate.
